Taking Space Telecom Firm AST SpaceMobile to New Heights
The Challenge
Space telecommunications company AST SpaceMobile was preparing to launch its new Bluewalker satellite into space—a highly complex and ambitious project. However, a series of technical delays had pushed back the launch date, creating some uncertainty. AST SpaceMobile sought to reassure its investors that the company was on solid ground and that the launch of its satellite, which would soon enable global communication through satellite-based calls and messages, was imminent. Spoiler alert: The Bluewalker satellite is now successfully orbiting Earth!
The Client
AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices.. The company’s mission is to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.
The Solution
Working closely with the AST SpaceMobile marketing and communications team, we contributed to the development of a series of videos highlighting AST’s partnerships with some of the world’s largest and most successful telecommunications companies. Additionally, we produced and edited a video offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at AST’s Houston facility, where the latest Bluewalker satellite was being constructed.
The Process
Development & Strategy
AST’s communications team approached us with an initial concept for a video series showcasing their partners. We played a key role in refining the concept, offering strategic guidance on how to execute it most effectively. Additionally, we developed a concise and impactful title for the series: “Partner Profiles.”
Production
Leveraging a combination of footage provided by AST’s marketing team, carefully selected stock footage, and custom animations, we crafted engaging and impactful narratives that effectively conveyed AST’s story. Throughout the process, we ensured the integration of music, sound design, and branded elements to enhance the storytelling and maintain consistency with AST’s overall brand identity. This approach helped create visually appealing and cohesive content that resonated with the target audience and showcased AST’s innovations and partnerships.
Distribution
While AST managed the distribution of the videos through its YouTube channel, we closely monitored performance metrics to assess engagement and viewer response. This data allowed us to refine and optimize our approach for subsequent videos, ensuring continuous improvement in content strategy and maximizing the impact of each release.
